So Apple doesn’t profit from iTunes…..Yet

According to http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2011/07/look-at-how-little-selling-music-matters-to-apple-chart.html, despite the fact that Apple has a 75% share of the digital music market, iTunes contributes a very small percentage to the Apple’s bottom line. Whilst as one comment suggests this may not worry Apple because iTunes is complimentary to the iPod and iPhone, it could also be a sign that the prices Apple currently offers are destine to increase. This is concerning particularly living in Australia as the Australian iTunes store is close to the most expensive in the world (http://www.macstories.net/stories/the-great-disparity-in-global-itunes-prices/).
